no fear

song: "sea of faces"-Kutless, from WOW 2005
current mood: feeling ala "critic"

i watched "crash" with some friends last thursday. i would like to give this so-called "review". it maybe late but to those who haven't gotten a copy or haven't watched the film yet here goes my take on the film...

this paul haggis film showcases america's famous celebs: chris 'ludacris' bridges, sandra bullock, don cheadle, matt dillon, jennifer esposito, brendan frasier and terrence howard to name a few. Each of them plays as an individual with his / her prejudices towards race. black against white, white against red, black against yellow, each people have social theories or stereotypes towards the other. Soon these prejudices lead to fear then emanate anger towards each other which also lead to heavier conflicts (robbery, murder, blackmail, accidents etc). These conflicts are then harshly resolved when they “crashed” into each other. They soon realize that they are not the only ones who are afraid but all are. They are not the only ones who are oppressed but all are. They are not the only ones who deal with personal problems but all are. They soon realize that what they thought was differences were similarities. Each one develops a form of respect for whatever “color” a person may have.

I believe this film triggers the American way of life--a life of fear. It wants us to change the way of thinking we have which in a song by Kutless says,
I see the city lights all around me
Everyone's obscure
Ten million people each with their problems
Why should anyone care?
The same as the song, the film teaches us to look beyond what we see, to look deeper. We may be surprised to see that we're not alone in our struggles.

kudos to paul haggis...
here's to a life of diversity, respect towards one and another, love and world peace, a cliche but true...
a life of no fear...

SH*T KA LOUIE IGNACIO!!!!

SH*T KA LOUIE IGNACIO!!!
you give me heart contractions whenever i see i single "masterpiece" you've done!

i hate your lame production efforts.. they lack artistic value...
i hate your trying hard scenic shots and nauseating shot transitions (e.g. i luv ny-gma7)
i hate your blurry / foggy effects that you do on your mtv's
i hate your production designs (e.g. sop-gma7).. they're nothing but tacky and tasteless!

louie ignacio--you are an "artist" poser!
isa kang kahiya-hiyang nilalang!
wag ka nang mag-feeling!
ikaw ang worst director that ever lived!

READERS--sorry guys! nagpa-palpitate at naninikip ang puso ko sa inis! arrggh!

msg-laiden food is love, diet pills is too(?)

we had dinner at a chinese restaurant last night. as in, the whole family was there to celebrate lola's birthday which is today. (happy birthday loola!). by the way, ate mids too bad you weren't there. almost complete na yung family. as in our long lost relatives--the zaguirres--were there too.. sayang nga lang na wala ka!

we had the msg-laiden sweet and sour pork, tofu in tausi sause, stir-fried noodles, yang chow rice.. in short hardcore chinese 'to! we were left so full, immobile and with a very bad headache after that hearty meal.

of course in a family gathering such as that, long talks and updates never fail to come up. one of the very heated topics was "diet pills". siyempre 'yan ang pinaka-produkto ng chinatown.. (forgot to mention that we were at binondo..hehe) ang dami talaga! grabe kumpleto talaga! from head to toe merong remedy! there were solutions to every person's problem, from height, weight, skin color.. lahat meron! pwede pang COMBO- may pampayat na pampaputi! totoo..

good thing i didn't have money and the store was closed when we decided to drop by, kung hindi namulubi na ko sa kakabili at naglakad na ko niyan pauwi..

my cousin, kuya goel, swore that they work. actually, it was pretty obvious that it does. comparing from the last time i saw him to what he looked like last night, it was DAMN EFFECTIVE. he even said his weight dropped from 150+ to 140+ by just drinking 10 capsules..

so ano? bili tayo? (good luck sa 'tin!)

from stolen identities to finding your true one

i was browsing through the internet when i remembered what was mentioned to me by a friend about some girl we saw before. one time we were checking out friendster profiles of some girls that one of my cousins likes... ang ganda niya promise.. she was so pretty that even we the girls found her gorgeous.

here's the catch...
lai, my cousin, mentioned that the image placed on that profile wasn't really her. eventually she found out who the REAL "LENNETH"--friendster profile name-- was and to think that the real owner's name wasn't really lenneth.. she was fooling everyone with fake images!

nakakalungkot..

insecurities in this age haven't been truly gotten over with.. it evolved...
in order to draw attention to one's self, s/he can just get another person's identity by just a click of a mouse.. a so-called ugly duckling can be a gorgeous swan online in an instant..
maraming naloloko nito..

nakakalungkot..

this is a crisis.. the only good thing is to personally meet someone. enough with the online interactivity crap! nabuhay nga ang mga magulang natin ng hindi umaasa sa computer (well maybe the technology back then doesn't exist) para makakilala ng tao.. ba't hindi ba natin kaya yon?

sa ganon, we will be true to ourselves and to the people we meet...
God may have allowed this technology to evolve and be used, but maybe He wanted it to connect people, form strong bonds and not fool anyone...

nakakalungkot...

pbbte rocks!

call me jologs... I DON'T CARE!

i'm super addicted to pbb again! i think ordinary people do draw interest.. (kasi the previous edition which was consisting of celebrities wasn't such a big hit.. ) lalo pa kung mga bata pa yung mga characters... their immaturities and playfulness bring life to the show...

ang sarap lang kasi pagtawanan yung kababawan and their so-called insecurities... and it's nice to remember how i was when i was at that age.. (i'm not that "pasaway" ha..) grabe! i feel old and grey!

go gerald! you're so cute.. you're like a 7-year-old kid... hanep sa pagiging hyperactive!

i like you talaga! this post is dedicated to you! mwah! (sorry sa malandi mode... to each his own okay?)

i used to like matty (funny afro-dude)-- pero sige lai sayo na siya hehe! and brenda i'm your fan too.. ala david blaine ka pa.. nice! (but you kinda scare me.. hehe..)

it's been a long time...

wow! my blog has gathered thick dust... it's been a very very very very long time since i published a new post.. (too my avid readers-if there are any haha-who have been constantly checking my blog for updates i send my apologies..) for several days or weeks, many things have happened. first of all, i graduated from college and i'm officially unemployed... and the picture on your right is my very beautiful grad pic..

i also had my very first job interview/s 1 or 2 days after the grad ceremony.. (galing no? it's all about connections baby! thanks nga pala kax for constantly updating everything and informing me.. love you to death! hala..) too bad it wasn't the right one and i had to turn it down.. because first of all it was kind of unrelated to my degree and second, it was very time demanding! as in i may have 7 DAYS OF WORK with early mornings and late nights for certain occasions.. grabe... sayang rin talaga! events planning kasi siya as in i'd be an assistant to three people and be handling the advertising and promotions for ayala's subsidiary, metropoint. still, it was a good practice for my conversing skills... and i'd be pretty sure that the next future interviews would be a breeze because i got over a back-to-back one..

well, as of the moment i'm pretty much enjoying my unemployed life.. i take my "working" friends' advice that i should unwind first and apply for jobs after a month or two.. because when you dive into that whirlpool called the "workfield" (sobra ba sa ka-cheesyhan? wag mag-alala that wasn't a direct quote..) there's no turning back! no more spur of the moment vacations, long lunchbreaks, sem breaks, no allowance (oh my gad!)!!!!

what i mean by enjoying my unemployment.. is oversleeping with matching tv addiction.. summer vacay rin siguro..

my sister and i are desperately planning to go swimming anywhere besides our bathroom.. because we were super duper disappointed with our recent tagaytay trip! screw you! you little children full of libag! you ruined our plans of dipping into the clear waters of the pool! you left it thick and grayish after your very very long overstay! (sorry for being redundant i really need it to get to the level of my dismay and disappointment!) speaking of disappointment please lang tagaytay haven staff members.. pakilinis naman yung pool don't cut corners when it comes to service lalo na pag ang dami niyong ina-accomodate at iisa lang naman ang pool niyo.. also orient your crew.. don't lead them to believe that the "jacuzzi" is the same as the "gazebo".. sorry guys a.. i didn't mean to be this frank and mataray i'm just desperate for a swimming getaway... well to add to that very disappointing trip.. i would like to say that it wasn't all that bad.. at least i had a great time thanks to my sister- jongkey, ayeen and jr.. for playing along our out-of-the-blue whims of "heart-attack" (a card game) which left us looking like pillsbury doughboys.. sana maulit!

yun na siguro! don't worry i'll fill you guys in when my DESPERATE SWIMMING ESCAPADE comes true..hehe.. till then ciao!
