Whoa.. its June 12. For all you "patriots" and fellow Filipinos out there, I'm pretty sure you arighty.. goodnight ..
know what this day is all about. It's the glorious
"independence day".
We've
been marking our calendars on this date ever since I was a kid.
Not for our
being very patriotic but because this day marks the highlight of our pig-like
lifestyle...
At this date we come to Tito Henie's (my dad's friend) for a grand
parade of gastronomical delights. A grandiose "name-it-they-have-it-like"
buffet welcomed us there from a
couple of dishes like humongous spicy crabs (which were as big as my
youngest sister-joy's-whole hand.. which is kinda big by the way..hehe),
delectable mussels, uber tender beef that surely melts in your mouth to
scrumptious desserts.
It was a fantasy feast
for all the food hogs out there. I ate like it was last
meal on earth... Too bad some
of our fellow "regulars", a couple of relatives and friends, weren't able
to take part of this heavenly yet almost sinful tradition.
I remember we used to go there in a group of ten
to fifteen people. One by one each "member" pretty much saw the light and
decided not to come... until there were 6 of us left.
SIX "surviving" faithful gluttons enjoying
every bite from our heaping plate.
A couple of us went straight to the loo and made
number two.. while one of us--specifically my dad-- had a major spasm.. hahahaha..
We were six guilty pigs with pants
unbuttoned.. burping excessively and farting loudly and proudly too (an
aftermath of the earthquake we caused in the toilet..hahaha). It was a good thing we were able
to sweat out some of those fattening stuff, when we strolled around glorietta.
We bought a pair of shoes for my sister,
joy
(her classes will start this coming wednesday..ehehe).
Aren't they cute?
They remind me of a chic-er school girl look.. i miss wearing mary janes..
all i use are flip-flops and sneakers.. (U.P. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME??) hehe everyone's pretty much asleep now.. and I
think "mentally" marking this date for next year at tito henie's.. haha
