burn baby burn!?!

october 28.. friday.. believe it or not, it's the second day of my "aerobic workout".. yes it's true.. you didn't hear it wrong.. I AM WORKIN' OUT.. and burnin' those ugly love handles or "salbabida" stomachs.. please close those dropped jaws.. yeah, yeah, i know you're surprised that such an act would come from me, a big couch potato with a hell of an appetite for greasy and unhealthy kinds of food..

it all began on that wonderful thursday afternoon when a light from heaven shone on that blessed blessed video, the MTV GRIND WORKOUT VIDEO.. (writer shifting to "black momma" mode) i'm tellin' you.. girl! as i popped that sh*t in that playah.. uh huh and did my groove thing.. uh huh it felt like i waz grindin' those flabs away..no mah' sayin'.. i was pumpin' and groovin' to that 90's music.. uh huh retro girl! mah' hearin' desiree, and othah artists i heard way back in highschool..uh huh..

i just hope i'm stickin' to this routine and be watchin' what i eat so that when my grandparents' anniv comes (wherein all of us required to wear dresses) i'll be so slim.. hehe keeping my fingers crossed for that.. well, we also have a summer getaway the coming april.. so the workout would be for a double purpose.. hehe

what i've been up to?!

our computer kind of got broken and lost power while we were playing the sims 2.. so i wasn't able to post anything in my blog for days.. here's what i've been up to if you're dying for updates..hehe

violin practices.. (ooh! how my ear hurts..), monday, october 24

i have been playing..i mean learning to play.. the violin for about almost two months now.. thanks to ana, my friend at fa, who referred me to teacher robbie who taught us for free and even provided for our instruments--loan lang for three months till we buy our own raw (sobrang once in a lifetime talaga.. so i took it..). i kinda sound lousy so never dare me to play anything and i'm still at the major scales, beginning actually.. pretty soon i'll be playing twinkle twinkle little star. Yey!

exciting! i wish i had learned how to play when i was young! (thanks to mom who never pushed us, my sisters and i, to any kind of class--ballet, piano, art, guitar, etc.--nada! still, i love you mom even if we never had funny so and so lessons to share to our friends..wow bitter hehe)

movie marathon, tuesday, october 25

my sister and i watched this film called la vita e bella (life is beautiful). it starred roberto benigni and nicoletta braschi. it was set at 1939 in Italy, benigni portrayed the role of guido orefice, a happy-go-lucky guy, who met dora (braschi) and fell in love with her instantly. he made ways to meet her again. knowing she was engaged, he tried to steal her away from her fiance and was successful. they lived a blissful life for several years. then came the war which led to the sending of the jews to a concentration camp. guido, who was a jew, and his young son, giosue, were sent there too. dora, who wasn't a jew, demanded to be with them. guido tried to shield his son from the harsh reality of their state by telling him that they were in a contest and the grand prize was a real tank...

the turn of events of this film was fascinating.. even the ways that guido made to snag his wife and protect his son were very entertaining and very moving.. this film is a must see but i must warn you: you must be keen to the dialogue to enjoy this truly . (hehe.. my sister and i always hit pause when we have bathroom breaks, so we wouldn't miss out on any part of it.. i couldn't even concentrate because i was eating mcd's.. i ate fast so there'd be no distractions.. wahehe takaw!)

we followed the film viewing with the latest peter pan flick, the adventures of peter pan,.. i kind of found peter pan and wendy's love affair quite (how do i put it..hmmm) "uninnocent" i think for their age.. well wendy anyway is at her coming of age as a "woman" na rin naman so i'll not mind it at all.. anyhoo, i melted at every gaze peter pan made in every scene.. grabe if he's that young and he could make hearts scream with excitement what more if he's my age.. well i hope so.. can't wait till he grows up.. oh my what am i saying?

the whole film was cute.. i totally loved the whole effect of the clouds.. i need to know who was behind all that and tell him he is THE MASTER!!! the film was clearly fascinating to me.. obviously!

spring cleaning (even if it's not spring..hehe), wednesday, october 26

we threw out 2 trash cans full of things that we thought wouldn't be of use to us.. grabe! our room was full of dust bunnies and sobrang dumi talaga.. kapagod! ganito pala ang feeling ng naglilinis.. (don't get me wrong i do clean, but it always depends on my mood.. my sisters get annoyed usually when i don't have the "mood" because i am the cause of clutter.. hehe) this was a miracle! totally a miracle! we threw all the crappy stuff we never used and never planned to use again..

the experience gave me a feeling of maturity like i'm growing up na talaga.. in every item i threw in the waste bin, it felt like a gesture for what was to come. it felt like i was making room for my future experiences in life like i was becoming a true adult.. besides i do have a semester left till graduation.. so i say goodbye to readings from old subjects and hello "adulthood"..

i'm slowly becoming sentimental about everything.. i dunno.. i'm quite excited for what's gonna happen to me.. on what God's design for my life will be.. also i feel a bit jittery like i might be bad at it or something.. these few months left.. i'm planning to savor every moment.. go out to places i haven't been to at campus.. stay up till dawn at the up fair.. and finally attend the christmas party at fa.. i wonder if the previous graduates felt this same feeling of excitement, uncertainty, and sentiment.. (streams of thought lang..) i think i'll ask my ate, everything's quite fresh to her having graduated last school year lang..

****
YEY!!!
ate's back on track! nye! hehe seriously she's here in manila..in makati actually.. she'll be spending a few weeks vacation with us..woohoo! party up na toh! love you lots little big sis!

wow!

my sister and i watched discovery travel and living a while ago.. they featured this wax museum in london called madame tussaud's.. grabe ang ganda! they hire highly-skilled sculptors to create wax replicas of some of the world's famous people.. i was so impressed with the artists' meticulous focus on the details.. even the muscles of michelle kwan's (their latest subject) back was painstakingly sculpted to be as accurate to her proportions.. grabe! i think if was given that task i'd go crazy.. hirap kaya! so i say kudos to those artists' devotion and total skill in doing their work! i just hope i had the money to go there and and to view the exhibit.. live in the flesh!

***
comment lang: i prefer the 200 year-old museum in london rather than those other branches-- in the US specifically.. --i just like the fact that in london (the main branch) the authenticity is preserved parang mas may class as compared to the franchises.. parang mass produced na pag dating sa States.. (note: the writer's just stating her own opinion regarding this matter..kaya walang kokontra!hehe)

really now?

i answered the test my cousin, lai, mentioned in her recent post.. it came from tickle.com and it was called "The Wedding Date Predictor". you wouldn't believe the results.. well, i know i, myself, was pretty surprised of what i found out.. here goes nothing..

*****
YOU ARE CLOSE to finding "the one!" We have carefully calculated your responses according to our scientific formula and harmonized the results to the Venutian lunar calendar. But don't get your hopes up to hear those wedding bells soon, because your bridesmaid days aren't over just yet.

YOU WILL BE MARRIED BY: Saturday, September 20, 2008

A number of different factors influenced your result. Check out the details below.

less likely to marrymore likely to marry

Social Factors

On the social front, you are pretty serious marriage material. As you read this, forces beyond your control are aligning to put you on the altar with Mr. Right. It's you, girl. Your number is up, and someone out there is just dying to pop you the question. There's no need to book a flight to Vegas, but you might want to start thinking about your wedding gown.
less likely to marrymore likely to marry

Emotional Factors

Emotionally, you seem to show some inner hesitations about marriage. C'mon, you didn't think you could hide it from us, did you? You've got what it takes to make the plunge, but you seem to want a little more time. There is something more than the "jitters" at work here. Maybe you just want to enjoy your single status for a little longer. Go for it, Honey, and tell them Tickle says it's OK.
less likely to marrymore likely to marry

Sexual Factors

You have very few sexually motivated reasons for avoiding marriage. Of course, the carefree single life can pose a strong attraction, but you probably prefer the thought of devoting yourself to one person. It's true that there are a lot of unsolved mysteries out there, but once you've found the right person, it's time to close shop. Congratulations on having the strength and security to know what's right for you.

i couldn't believe it.. to think i was imagining myself getting married at my late 30's.. year 2008 is pretty early! ohmygah! guys take the test..hehe.. you too will be very surprised on what you'd find out..

FINALLY!?!

wow?! it has been like a month since my last post (if you guys have been checking out my blog you would know..hehe)... i was super busy at that time because of my dreaded THESIS!!! and thank God the FIRST HALF was over!!! (apologies for the excessive use of exclamation points...hehe...).. finally, i can spend my sem break and drain out the stress (yeah!) besides i have to spend my 2 weeks left before classes start..

i decided to mark the time of "celebration" with a new blog layout..bilang reward sa aking blog..at sa akin na rin (hope you guys like it! well, i don't care if you don't kasi i'm very happy with it.. wala na kayong magagawa..hehe)

anyway, if you're begging for updates..hehe..
here are the highlights to fill in my month-long dormant blog..

highlight 1:
love life: finally "existed"

i won't give out the details (not everyone has an idea who he is and i'm not planning to reveal it here..baka mabasa pa at malaman na..hmph!).. i went out with a guy, who was my long time crush and who i knew treated the whole thing platonic. maybe i was just the one who added color to it.. (but still who knows..hehe asa pa!) we had fun and i was plainly stupid for not asking him to have dinner tutal gutom na rin kami.. i just left him when he told me to go home and not wait for him when he was buying something.. may pagka-bobo lang talaga ako.. he waited for me when i was buying something tapos siya di ko inintay.. katangahan talaga! i'm still dwelling on that idea pa rin...

highlight 2:
family life: my big sis has gone to samar

yes..it's true my ate miday has gone to samar for work.. sobrang miss na namin siya.. ako most especially.. kasi kami yung magkatabi sa bed. even if we have a love-hate relationship i want her back here sa house.. we keep our fingers crossed na she would be able to come to manila next week for her training.. so the family will have a chance to see her.. hay! big little sis hamishu!

highlight 3:
school life: cram galore

hehe.. for those people who really know how i deal with things, gets nila 'to agad.. i tend to cram for almost anything most especially in my acads.. for the previous sem.. i did everything at the last minute.. even my thesis.. i did it for about 2 weeks when it was supposed to be done for 2 whole months.. and thank God really that i came out alive after that..

highlight 4:
spiritual life: revival baby!

like what i've said earlier i cram and it has been my lifestyle for the longest time.. God dealt with this attitude in ways i can't imagine! sobrang i love God for sticking with me even if i wasn't worthy.. He totally gave his grace and mercy kaya i was able to pass my thesis.. now, i'm trying to live a cram-free life (walang kokontra!) and make sure that i've really learned my lesson.. also, i was able to share to people about my faith and my testimonies which i don't normally do.. whoa! whatta breakthrough!!

highlight 5:
social life: corpse bride rocks!

finally, my friends and i got to watch the flick since it was released 2 weeks ago.. i loved everything about it! tim burton you're the master!!! i loved the corpse bride's veil!!! the film affected me in such way na it creeped me out when the bride came pati rin yung character who was cut in half with all his insides shown.. kahit clay yun... i felt like hurling when i saw it..

yun i guess those were the notable things i have experienced for the month that had passed..

you'll be hearing (or reading) out from this blog for these next two weeks (applause and cheers please..hehe) dahil wala naman siguro akong gagawin ng mga time na yun..

hehe
